Paolo Manzone and his wife Luisella Corino fulfilled their dream in 1999, when they began producing Barolo in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba and started renovating their farmhouse, soon opening a charming bed & breakfast. Paolo’s family had been producing traditional Piedmontese wines since 1970 in the municipality of Sinio, mainly selling bulk wine. From a very young age, Paolo helped his parents both in the cellar and in the vineyards, developing a deep love for this world as a child. Between 1978 and 1983, he attended the Enological School of Alba, where he proved to be an excellent student. After completing his studies, he immediately began working for several wineries in the area. The turning point came in 1999 when, together with Luisella Corino — whose mother owned around five hectares of vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba — they started vinifying wines in this renowned commune. The winery is located in a small southwest-facing natural amphitheater entirely within the Cru Meriame area. Today, the estate has grown to approximately 15 hectares of owned vineyards spread across the municipalities of Serralunga d'Alba, Sinio, and Roddino. The vineyard in Roddino once belonged to Luisella’s father, who worked as a miller while also cultivating grapes. Total production now reaches around 100,000 bottles, exported to wine lovers all over the world. Luisella and Paolo’s dream has come true, but never without remembering the hard work and dedication of their grandparents and parents, whose legacy continues to inspire every bottle they produce.
