Teruzzi was born in one of Tuscany’s most iconic locations, San Gimignano, where history, landscape, and viticulture have coexisted for more than two thousand years. This territory, which developed along the historic Via Francigena, built its identity thanks to its strategic position and an agricultural vocation that has endured through the centuries, leaving a profound mark on local culture. Since the Middle Ages, San Gimignano has been inseparably linked to Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the symbolic grape variety of these hills. As early as the 13th century, Vernaccia was already the subject of thriving trade and, over time, it evolved while preserving its identity: a white wine of remarkable elegance, with a luminous color, refined aromatic profile, and a dry, distinctive taste. This long journey toward excellence led to the recognition of its DOCG status in 1993, the first ever awarded to a Tuscan white wine. Within this setting rich in history and tradition, Teruzzi was founded in 1974 by Enrico Teruzzi together with his wife Carmen Teruzzi. The winery was created with a clear vision: to reinterpret Vernaccia di San Gimignano in a contemporary way, enhancing its character and aging potential through innovative winemaking choices while always respecting the territory. Since 2016, becoming part of the Terra Moretti group has further strengthened this vision, enabling the winery to invest even more in sustainability, research, and quality. Today, Teruzzi is considered a benchmark for Vernaccia di San Gimignano and for modern Tuscan viticulture. Its wines tell the story of an authentic Tuscany, shaped by the balance between past and future, where historical heritage becomes a living expression capable of revealing itself through wines of great personality, elegance, and territorial depth.
